Mauricio González, was born in Bogotá, Colombia.
At 16 years of age, Mauricio started his BA in Graphic Design and two years later he had the chance to photograph one of Colombia's beauty queens. The result was so good it became his starting point as a photographer.
Mauricio has worked as an assistant for two well known Colombian photographers: Mauricio Vélez and Raúl Higuera, as well as assistant for the film maker and aerial photographer Jacques Osorio Anastasiu.
He has also worked for different ad agencies and media such as magazines and TV networks where he currently works. Mauricio has also been present as front row photographer in Colombia's most recognized fashion shows.
In 2009 he traveled to New York and was invited as press photographer to one of the biggest photography show where he had the chance to improve his knowledge on fashion photography and digital post-production.
In 2011 he was part of the book "Light & Shoot, 50 fashion photos" by the editorial Ilex Press from the UK, and his work has been referenced in countries such as Poland, Bulgaria, the UK and the US.
Mauricio likes to include magic in his photographs, as well as glamour, fantasy and humor. He wants the viewer to take enough time to contemplate the images he has created.
He actually lives in Bogotá, where he works and manages his own photography company.
