Mauricio González was born on 3rd May, 1985 in Bogotá, Colombia.

His mother studied architecture. His father showed him for the first time a professional camera with wich he recorded trips in his youth.
His artistic inclinations were also influenced by the school which was attended and he learned about architecture and different artistic and esthetics expressions. When he was 16 went to University and began his studies in Graphic Design and showed his love for photography and the atraction for that. At 18 he had the opportunity to take some pictures to a colombian beauty queen known for University workshop. For the shooting he used the 35 mm analog camera that his father had given him. The result was so satisfactory that this was his starting point as a photographer. He worked at different jobs to finance his studies. Started in small jobs as a messenger, waiter, salesman, typist and later worked as a design assistant in an advertising agency where increased his knowledge in the visual arts. There he met artists, illustrators, animators, publicist, TV producers, editors, cameramen, photographers etc. Working on day and studying at night. For three years he worked as an assistant photo with 2 of the most recognized photographers in Colombia like Mauricio Velez and Raul Higuera. Also as an assistant for the filmmaker and aerial photographer Jacques Osorio Anastasiu. Gradually was learning more in photography world, exploring different fields such as photojournalist, product photography, events, portraits, urban, landscape, experimental, and then fashion photography which devotes most of his time. He has worked for advertising agencies, media, magazines and TV where he is currently. Also in the most prestigious fashion shows in Colombia. His first photograph was published in the National Geographic Magazine online. He has published photos in countries like Poland and the United States and currently has published a photograph in a Fashion Book Photography in London. Has been reviewed in several places where he never thought to be seen like Bulgaria. In 2009 he went to New York City, and attended as an invited press photographer to one of the most famous photography exhibitions in the world called PhotoPlus Expo, where

he expanded his knowledge and learned more in fashion photography and digital postproduction.
Right there in NYC had the opportunity once again to be photo assistant of Raul Higuera, but this time in photoshoot of the renowned mexican singer Thalia for Marie Claire magazine published in January 2010. Mauricio likes to include in your photos magic, fantasy and humor and wants that the viewers take enough time to observe his pictures.

Actually he has 25 and lives in Bogota and works with his own photography company named ”Mauhaus”.
